About Me
Hi, I’m Leah, the voice and heart behind "Fika with Leah" and Consciously Living.
My journey truly began in 2019, when everything in my life shifted, both personally and professionally. It took courage, clarity, and a commitment to live consciously to become who I am today. What followed was a 180-degree transformation: the unraveling of an old life and the emergence of my most authentic self.
I'm here to share that journey, not because it’s perfect, but because it's real. And if it inspires even one person to pursue the life they feel called to live, then it’s worth telling.
I live in Louisiana (for now...who knows what the future holds) and am a proud mom of two incredible kids. After ending a 19-year marriage, I found myself on a completely different path than what I imagined. I transitioned from managing over 300 employees and a $17 million budget, to teaching business classes at a local university and running my own skincare boutique.
I’ve always been someone who flows with life. I love traveling, exploring new places, meeting people, and hearing their stories. And honestly, I’m still surprised when people find my story inspiring. But over the years, I’ve been encouraged, again and again, to share it. All of it!! The highs, the heartbreaks, the fears, the faith, the transformation.
It hasn’t always been easy, but I’ve learned that real growth often begins in the most uncomfortable places. And I’m learning to live in that space with peace, grace, and gratitude. All the glory goes to God and I'm hear to share how far having Faith in Him can get you.
My journey has now led me to help others through Life/Business Consulting, but with a spiritual twist.
Here's a little more about me professionally:
College Instructor:
In my role as a college instructor, I focus on more than just academic instruction; I emphasize personal relationships as well. Specializing in business communication, management, and entrepreneurship. I strive to create a supportive environment where students can comfortably discuss both academic and personal challenges. I believe this approach fosters a deeper connection, which transcends the traditional classroom boundaries and creates a safe space that encourages personal growth.
Entrepreneur of Fika Skön:
As a licensed esthetician, my entrepreneurial journey led to the opening of my own skincare boutique, Fika Skön. The name ‘Fika’ is inspired by the Swedish tradition of taking a mindful break to relax and engage in meaningful conversations, a practice which is deeply embedded in their culture. I resonate with this philosophy and believe it’s invaluable in today’s fast-paced society. My business is a blend of my love for relaxation techniques with this Swedish tradition.
Intuitive Life/Business Consultant:
While providing relaxation facials to clients, I discovered in that stillness, it also allowed my intuition to flourish. I began to receive insights during these sessions, which led to me offering advice that resonated with, and was later, validated by my clients. This experience has enabled me to integrate my educational background with mindfulness techniques in my role as an intuitive life and business consultant. I use these skills to help individuals find balance and clarity, bridging their personal and professional worlds through a mindful approach.
